First example- If a student pays attention to what his proffesor says and after that does what he was taught, he will pass the exam. He will only fail if he desobeys, otherwise, it´s impossible for him not to pass.
Second example- If a child pays attention to his parent´s advises, he/she won´t make the same mistake his/her parents made. But if he desobeys, there´s no way to avoid the bad consequences: pain, deception and even a lot of suffering, and all of this because he didn´t want to obey.
Third example- If a person is sick or has an illness, he/she goes to the doctor, pays attention and does what the doctor tells him/her to do to be fine again and get out of that health problem (only if the problem it´s not a spiritual problem). If this person desobeys, there´s no way she/he will be cured.
The same thing happens when you go to church or read the Bible, if you pay attention and obey God´s word, it´s impossible not to see the consequences of your obedience, I mean, the blessings (read Deuteronomy 28: 1-14). But if you do not pay attention and desobey it´s also impossible for bad things not to happen (read Deuteronomy 28: 15-68).
God is not bad or unfair and does not want horrible things for some people and wonderful things for others; the consequences of obedience or desobedience are the ones that decide the way the life of each person is going to be like.
Now I ask you: What do you want for your life?
I leave with this 2 verses for you to meditate before reading Deuteronomy, chapter 28.
To the ones who obey
" The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lordyour God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom." Deuteronomy 28:13
To the ones who desobey
"The Lord will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him." Deuteronomy 28:20
Don´t forget that the one who chooses is you.
Think and evaluate what you are going to do!!
At your disposition,
Pastor Robson Cavalcante
