He lost EVERYTHING he had with God

Saul

Before Saul became a king, Israel obey Samuel, who would do all the things that God told him to do and all the things that God thought were the best for His people (read 1 Samuel 3:19-21).

When Samuel turned into an old man, people started wondering who would rule over them because their children were not following the same path their parents did (read 1 Samuel 8:1-5). Those
worries proved that the people had forgotten about God, I mean, they didn´t think of Him as their king.

So God chose Saul to be king and rule (read 1 Samuel 9:15-27) and became a king of Israel just as the people had requested (read 1 Samuel 10).

After this happened, Saul showed his disobedience when he offered sacrifices without Samuel´s help just as he was supposed to do (real 1 Samuel 13:8-13).

Because of Saul´s disobedience, God started searching for someone that could be according to His heart so that person could rule over Israel, and that way He found David (read 1 Samuel 13:14).

Lost things

We can say that before Saul disobeyed, he was anxious and did not want to loose people´s attention ( read 1 Samuel 13:8).

How many blessings is Gog willing to give you but you want to take control of the situation and do whethever you want to do? How many blessings are lost?

If we go back to Saul, his disobedience cause the lost of a whole kingdom, and what´s more, he lost God´s blessing. Because of his arrogance and because he didn´t do the things he was supposed to do as a king, Saul lost everything God was planning to give him.
That was the beginning of his imbalance and lack of trust in God. During his reign, and after Samuel found David, he proves to be an unscrupulous man, forgetting about God and throwing his soul to hell killing himself:

"The fighting was fierce around Saul, and he was badly wounded by enemy arrows. Saul told the soldier who carried his weapons, “Kill me with your sword! I don’t want those worthless Philistines to torture me and make fun.” But the soldier was afraid to kill him. Saul then took out his own sword; he stuck the blade into his stomach, and fell on it." 1 Samuel 31:3-4

Don´t follow Saul´s steps, wanting to do your will, forgetting that God always knows what´s best for you because that will lead you to hell.

Wait, be patient, obey and, that way, you´ll see what God has prepared for you: good things, perfect things and great things ( read Romans 12:2).

Every sunday we´ll post about the Men of the Bible, read and share!
