Did someone cut or wants to cut your ear?

Many people may not know him or even though they have read his name in the bible, they haven´t understood that Malchus has a beautiful story, even if he was not a main character.
You´ll find his name in John 18.10; he was a high priest´s servant and Simon Peter cut off his right ear.
Many people believe that Simon Peter cut a soldier´s ear, but it was Malchus he had hurt.
And who was Malchus?
He was a man that had a dream: to be a priest. According to historians, Malchus spent his life studing, obeying the rules, the laws
And he was only one step away of becoming a priest when, by a superior order, he went to capture Jesus.

According to the law, a stutterer, a deaf or any person with any other defect in his body could not become a priest. Something could be wrong with his left ear, but the right one had to be in perfect conditions.
“Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest´s servant, cutting off his right ear (the servant´s name was Marchus)” John 18.10

Getting to a conclusion
How many times we dedicate ourselves to do something, face difficult things and sacrifice, and when the moment comes for us to be crowned, something happens and cuts our dreams by the roots.
Sometimes the one ready to cut our dreams and goals is someone who follows Jesus or even someone very close to us.
You can find a lot of words that refer to this (read Matthew 26:51-52, Mark 14:47, John 18:10-11). But only Luke tells us about the cure. “No more of this! And he touched the man´s ear and healed him” (Luke 22:51).
Jesus knew about the dreams Malchus had, so he not only performed a miracle in his body, but also brought his dream back to life.

To remember
God sees everything. He knows our dreams. And when our lives are in His hands, Jesus comes and fights for us, heals us and rebuilds our dreams no matter who´s trying to thwart our dreams.
It is not the end yet. Jesus can rebuild what was broken, heal what was wounded and give strength when we run out of it.
Just like it happened to Malchus, remember that when we can stand no more pain or when we think that is the end Jesus comes and says: “No more of this. You are not fighting alone. I am with you”. He gives us victory!!!

And just like Malchus, let Jesus rebuild your dreams and how to stand firm fighting for them.

God bless you
